Lammas, sometimes called Lughnasadh, is a celebration of abundance at the height of summer. The Lammas is a time to gather and celebrate of the union of Sun and Earth, and give thanks for abundance.
Lammas occurs on August 1, halfway between Litha (Summer Solstice) and Mabon (Fall Equinox). This marks the beginning of the harvest season. At Lammas, we relish in the joy and abundance of the first harvest. What seeds did you plant at the beginning of the year?

In ritual, we focus on harvest and gratitude. Now is the time to recognize what has unfolded, celebrate and bestow gratitude for the rewards of those seeds. This is a powerful time to tune into your abundance to create a secure happy, prosperous life and home.
Traditional ways of honoring the day include baking bread, and incorporating recipes with lots of fruits, vegetables, corn and other grain dishes.
What is abundant in your life at this time? Tune into its energy flow and celebrate!
