It’s been a while since we last posted, but in the past few months we’ve been preparing for our upcoming Beltane Ritual this weekend.
We love the faerie magick and energy of Beltane, and are excited to gather with our friends and family to celebrate this festival of flowers and fire.
Beltane is the midpoint between the Spring Equinox and Summer Solstice, to honor and bless the abundance of our Earth! At Beltane, Earth energies are strong and active; life is bursting.
We will be gathering together in ritual to light a sacred fire to provide an avenue to let go, to transform, to renew and to be reborn.
The word ‘Beltane’ originates from the Celtic God ‘Bel’, meaning ‘the bright one’ and the Gaelic word ‘teine’ meaning fire. Together they make ‘Bright Fire’, or ‘Goodly Fire’ and traditionally bonfires were lit to honor the Sun and encourage the support of Bel and the Sun’s light to nurture and protect the community.
Our fire will be kindled with 9 sacred woods collected from the property, Hummingbird Hallow, where we are hosting the ritual and celebration. It will also contain offerings of the 9 sacred traditional Beltane woods: apple, birch, fir, grapevine, hawthorn, hazelnut, oak, rowan, willow, and elder.
Beltane, actually falls on May 1st, May Day, but we are celebrating this weekend between the midpoint of the recent new moon and Beltane.
Here’s our Beltane Blessing for you:
May you always walk full of sunshine
May you never want for more
May you always be uplifted
Today and forever more.
We hope you have a magical weekend full of festive flowery fun!
